I purchased this ring as a replacement for a gold and platinum wedding band that I lost after 18 years, a fact that my wife will never let me forget. Anyway, older and wiser now, I wanted a ring that didn't cost me $1,000, and I wanted it to be light. I'm not a ring guy, and I lost my wedding band because I was constantly taking it off when I washed my hands for fear of losing it in a drain. I tried the silicone bands that everyone is talking about, but it just felt too cheesy and cheap. I still wanted something that had some substance to it. Carbon fiber immediately came to mind, and that's why I took a chance with this ring.
It fits well. I went to a jeweler and asked them to measure my finger, and I ordered the ring in the same size the jeweler said my ring size was. The Shardon ring fits perfectly.
It's light. I can't even tell I have a ring on my finger. For the first time ever, I wear it to bed, in the shower, and doing outside activities.
Seems to be strong. Carbon fiber is inherently strong if made correctly, and this seems to not disappoint. I don't think I could possibly break it in day-to-day activities, but I'm not an auto mechanic or machine worker either. In those hand-bashing jobs, I'm not sure how it would hold up, but I imagine it would be fine.
It is black of course. I like it the look of it a lot. Very techy looking if you ask me. My wife doesn't like it, but she's still upset I lost my gold band. She's threatening to spray paint it gold. That might be another reason I'm not taking it off at all!
