I looked at dozens of alternatives and went for this because of the good reviews. It's really great. Only 1/2" wide and the metal is matte grey, so it doesn't scream "medical ID." It's not intuitive how to operate the mechanism and there are only four pictures for directions. But, I was able to get it figured without too much fiddling. The mechanism is verywell made and very sturdy. It's VERY comfortable. I didn't want a jangely bracelet and I was concerned about watch band types pinching. I've only had this on for an hour and have forgotten it already.

There are only two problems. 1) When I typed in the emergency contact info, there weren't enough letters allowed to include "husband" after the phone number. The example shows phone number, name and relationship (XXX-XXX-XXXX Alice Wife), but even with a 5 letter name, husband" wouldn't fit. 2) You have to cut the band to fit and can't adjust it after that. I'd kind of like to wear it on the small part of my wrist sometimes and farther up my arm other times. Not a big deal. Overall, I'm really happy with it. It would be great for kids without the medical symbol on it, just a name and contact phone number, if appropriate.

I really hope if emergency personnel have to read this at some point, it's in broad daylight and it's someone with excellent vision. That's because the text is very small. The product image is a tad deceptive as the contrast between the lettering and the bracelet surface is not as pronounced as the photo indicates. I found the 'official' sizing video on YouTube but my clasp is different than the one in the video so it was helpful as to the general idea, but did not make opening the clasp clear. Once you get it sized and on your wrist you hardly notice it's there which is nice. The metal parts slip around the circumference of the band. I used the excess length I cut off as a pad and pinched them in place with pliers.

I ordered this because of the high rating and stylish look but there are definitely some disadvantages to having this bracelet as well.

    - The clasp is well made so your bracelet wont fall off without you knowing ( It had opened a few times on me, but it was just the clasp not the actual bracelet coming loose)
-it is made of silicone so its lightweight and does well in water (can shower and bathe with it)
-It isn't bulky as other medical ID bracelets

    - Once you size it to your wrist, by cutting the silicone, you cant go back and change it...it remains that size. So size it carefully.
    - The writing on the bracelet plate is too small. My nurse in the ER had to put glasses on in order to read my bracelet.
    - The bracelet is way smaller than u think. For men, I think it would be a little too dainty...I am a tomboy and it feels and looks too slim for me.
-I had this type of laser writing on a bracelet before and after a while of use, it wore off. (I will update this after some time of constant use).

UPDATE: I was in a horrible car accident where I was t-boned and broke my fib/tib, have a fractured sternum/ribs, blood clots, and a hematoma. I was in excruciating pain and the EMTs and Trauma team kept asking me what my allergies were. I have 6, so it was nice to have this bracelet, so they could just read it out loud. Although this has some issues, they are minor and I would recommend this for people with medical issues and a lot of allergies.

Would give a higher rating but it has problems. Hope this helps whoever is thinking of buying this.

Got for several severe allergies to common drugs.
I feel much better with it on my wrist, and I have recommended it several family members. The text is laser engraved (not printed) and will not scratch off. Further it is legible, but also small enough that people could not read personal information off it unless they physically held it steady. I feel comfortable walking around without the fear of some one snapping a picture or reading it; mine has a state I’d number.
It is just discreet enough to not be noticed daily, but also attention catching enough (if the moment were to arise) to alert whoever needs to know.

I am so very pleased with my purchase! We actually got this for my dad. We really like the look along with it’s practicality. I really do like the company that sells this. I went online to their website to see all of the options for medical ID bracelets. It’s really a great thing that they’ve come up with. If interested, they have additional ways of personalizing. I just wanted it to be simple though.
I chose to purchase it on Amazon as it is a PRIME item whiched allowed me to get it a little faster. I wasn’t sure how the personalizing of it with the work. Was a little leery of it coming back in correct. But, it came in just as I typed it. Regarding the bracelet, it has such a great feel. It doesn’t take much room and a very important note.. IT IS COMFORTABLE to wear. It seems like it will be durable too. I think it is a good price and I am very very happy with it!

It was difficult to size, but I was finally able to do this, despite the poor instructions and very puzzling video (not just my assessment; several friends, one an industrial designer, concurred). Since then, the teethed clasp which holds the cut end of the rubber-like strap, has opened twice and the bracelet has fallen off. I’ve set it aside and bought a different brand that I’m quite pleased with. I did not request a new bracelet because the problem is not one of being defective. It is, in my opinion, simply the result of very poor design.

Love it! Easy to read and very durable as I wear it 24hrs a day. Looking to buy more for my kiddo as a easy safety precaution.

The overall design is FANTASTIC. I bought it for my father and it's so comfortable that he can wear it around the clock. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the type is very, very, small. When I ordered mine I used all 5 information lines, maybe if you only use 3 lines the type can be larger? But then that limits how much information you can provide which sort of defeats the purpose. It's a terrific product, you just need young eyes or glasses to read it.

This medical bracelet is fine although the clip is a little fiddly to open. Well pleased.

    Absolutely brilliant this ID bracelet
